Plagiarism



Plagiarism is an illegal act of taking one’s idea and making it as your own without the recognition and approval of the original author or maker.

According to Republic Act No. 8293, Known as "Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines", Plagiarism is a crime. This law protect the patent and give rights to original author or maker who have been victimize of  the crime called plagiarism. 

Examples of plagiarism that you may not know this are; making someone’s work or as your own, copying someone ideas without giving credit to that someone, giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation and changing words but copying the structure of the sentence, Using someone music, video or piece of image in your work without getting proper permission or giving proper citation is plagiarism Some activities of plagiarism are very common in today’s society, especially into social media like Facebook, despite their popularity, they are still count as plagiarism. Copying someone’s information, especially images, form other website and paste it on your own website and paper.

Most cases of plagiarism can be escaped, however, by citing the information or sources, just admitting that certain material has been borrowed and proving to your reader and listener with the information needed to look for the source is usually enough to avoid plagiarism.
